The ASLM Mailing List
ASLM is different from most newsgroups in that we also have a mailing list version of the group. The mailing list was originally started when we began the moderated version of the newsgroup. It took awhile until everyone's Internet provider picked up the new group, so we used the mailing list to make sure that everyone who wants to take part in ASLM can get all the messages.
These days, some women subscribe to the mailing list because their provider's new server misses a lot of the messages. Others use it because they get messages faster via email than they do over Usenet. And a lot of us use the mailing list if the ASLM server is having problems.
So How Do I Get on the Mailing List?
To subscribe, just send an email message to email@example.com. Don't put anything in the subject line of your message, but put the following in the message body:
That's all. You will start getting all of the same messages that appear in the newsgroup.
What If I Don't Want to Get a Jillion Emails per Day?
We also offer a digest version of the mailing list, which sends you a couple dozen messages at a time, one or more times a day. (Usually, there are three or four digests in a day.) To subscribe to the digest, send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org. Leave the subject line of your message blank, but put the following in the message body:
Ok, I'm Subscibed; Now What?
To post to the mailing list, send your message to:
If you need to leave the mailing list, send a message to:
